World congress on Thyroid Cancers, London on 14th June 2023 The Indian Society of Thyroid Surgeons was given a full three hour separate satellite session for the second consecutive term at the recently held meeting of the World Congress on Thyroid Cancers at London on 14th June 2023. The session was widely appreciated. It comprehensively covered a wide range of topics pertaining to present day management of thyroid cancers in India. Dr Madan Kapre, Chairman Governing Council and Dr Jatin Shah, Elliot Strong chair for Head and Neck oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering made opening remarks. The lectures were delivered by President Dr Jyoti Dabholkar (Scope of Molecular biology in decision making for thyroid pathologies in India), Dr Rajendra Toparani (Re-operative thyroid surgery), Dr Kaustubh Patel (Tracheal resection for advanced thyroid cancers), Dr Sivakumar Thiagarajan (IONM in thyroid surgery), Dr Archi Agrawal (Radio-isotope therapy in medullary thyroid cancers), Dr Abhishek Vaidya (Neo-adjuvant Lenvatinib for anaplastic thyroid cancers). Dr Elizabeth Iype presented perspectives on long term outcomes for Differentiated thyroid cancers from South India. Dr Neeti Kapre Gupta spoke on unique diagnostic algorithm for improved detection of malignancy in indeterminate modules. Dr Ashok Shaha, Jatin Shah chair for Head Neck Surgery at MSKCC, New York was the moderator for a riveting case based panel discussion. Dr Gregory Randolph, Dr Jyoti Dabholkar, Dr Anuja Deshmukh, Dr Abhishek Vaidya, Dr Munita Bal and Dr Archi Agrwal were the panelists. The three day long conference also saw very encouraging participation from the Indian delegation. Dr Madan Kapre spoke on reducing complications in thyroid surgery and was part of initiative of perspectives for thyroid cancer management across the globe and NCCN at WCTC. Dr Amit Agrawal ex-HOD SGPGI, Lucknow also participated in the academic deliberations. Dr Anuja Deshmukh (video presentation), Dr Vidisha Tuljapurkar (poster presentation), Dr Arpita Singh (paper presentation), Dr Bansal (poster presentation) showcased brilliant original research work from India.
